Everyone knows the story of how Cinderella lost her slipper. It was sparkly and perfect, and it is what gets her back to her prince. We decided to create a treasure hunt game with the theme of finding your lost slipper.
The treasure hunt would begin with a royal decree:
"Hear Ye, Hear Ye. The royal glass slippers have been lost. The King/Queen has decreed that any girl who can find a lost slipper will become a princess."Then add the first clue to your treasure hunt. We recommend you use 6-10 clues taking the girls throughout your venue looking for their lost slippers. At the end of the treasure hunt they will find a chest or basked of lost "Cookie" Slippers. Because they found their slipper the King/Queen can declare them princesses and give them a royal crown/tiara.
To make these cookies:
Ingredients:
1 Cup Sugar
1/2 Cup Shortening
1 Egg
1 Tsp Vanilla
3 Tsp Baking Powder
3 1/4 Cups Flour
1/2 Tsp Salt
1/2 Cup Milk
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine sugar and shortening and beat until smooth. Then beat in the egg and vanilla. In a separate bowl combine the baking powder, flour and salt. Mix one cup of the flour mixture into the sugar mixture until combined. Then stir in 1/4 cup of milk till smooth. Repeat. Add the rest of the flour mixture and stir until smooth. Cover the cookie dough and refrigerate for at least 1/2 hour. Roll out on floured surface to 1/4 inch thickness. Use a shoe shaped cookie cutter to cut out your cookies. Place them on a greased cookie sheet and bake for 8 minutes or until the bottoms are starting to gently brown. Place cookies on a rack to cool.
We used this Royal Icing Recipe from Martha Stewart. You will want to add about 4 drops of blue food coloring to get the correct icing color. Once you have flooded the cookies with the royal icing quickly sprinkle the tops with silver sprinkles. We used CakeMate Cupcake Gems in Shimmer Silver. The white flower is made from a white buttercream frosting and was piped on with a Wilton #24 tip.
I couldn't reply to your comment on my web design post and I wanted to answer your question. I see that you are on blogger so to find out the dimensions of your blog, go to template and click on customize. This will open the Blogger Template Designer. From here go to Adjust Widths. The first bar you see will be the dimension of your entire blog. You will probably want to design your header somewhere around the same px. So if your dimensions are 1000 px, to be safe I'd design the blog header around 100 px less (at 900). Did this help?
ReplyDeleteThat was helpful. Thanks!
